Michael Holt: Week 2 Recap

Working with the students from McCutcheon High School was a great experience. I taught students about soil science and the importance of soil for plants and other uses. Engaging the kids was tough at first, but as the week progressed they clearly had taken an interest in the soil testing and texture analysis activities we were doing! My partner and I have been working hard with our mentors to put together our research proposal and we will be presenting it next week. I’ll be starting my research next week too and I can’t wait to see what this summer has in store for me and my peers!
