Kayanna Turner: Week 7 Recap

This week was my group’s last week of sampling, which was bittersweet because it means this program is coming to a close. We were finally able to go pond sampling this week and it was a lot of fun! I learned that it takes a lot of logistical planning if you want to conduct a large sampling event like we did for it to go smoothly. We also processed the last of our samples and started running data analysis. I don’t have too much experience with R, so data analysis has been the most challenging part of the program so far.

To end our week, we spent a day in Chicago and had a blast. We visited the WNDR museum and Shedd Aquarium. It was a great break from the stress of our work week. Next week, we will finalize our research paper, poster, and presentation, which will be pretty stressful. Regardless, I’m looking forward to developing these and showing off the last seven weeks of our project!
