Grace Follmer: Week 1 Recap

Last week we learned a lot about the REEU program and all of the different components that come with it. We were trained on pesticide use, lab safety, and first aid, and got to hear some interesting presentations from different people at Purdue. I learned some new skills during our trip to the Dunes about giving educational hikes and keeping people engaging when you’re working with them. I enjoyed our trip to the Dunes and getting to know my coworkers better. The biggest challenge of last week was planning out our research project and what we need to do in the upcoming weeks, but I’m looking forward to really getting started on the project this week!
