Angie Ayala: Week 8 Recap

I’ve learned a lot about myself and the world of FNR these past eight weeks. Even when the weather was miserable, being surrounded by nature and the elements while completing field work was my favorite part of the program. Getting through frustrating research situations has allowed me to be more aware of my strengths and weaknesses. One of things I was able to learn this week was how to create a research poster and that there is a fine line between having it be informative but also visually appealing. Between finishing our paper, poster, and presentation, this past week was also stressful for everyone. However, during this entire internship and especially this past week, I learned how to successfully communicate to the public. The mentors were very helpful during this program and taught us about presenting and general work in the field of natural resources. I feel more confident in applying for jobs and internships now that I have this experience under my belt!
