Michael Holt: Week 3 Recap

Week three marked the start of our field data collection. My partner Jonathan and I spent this week classifying trees in all of the butternut plots, which took a long time to do! Dr. Conrad and Dr. Lawson also helped us refine our methods at the beginning of the week. It was difficult to classify trees in the rain on Friday, but it beat working in the heat! I’m looking forward to taking leaf and soil samples next week, and have been enjoying my time at Martell. Sadly, I wasn’t able to attend the Turkey Run trip, but I’m sure we’ll have many more fun adventures in the remaining weeks.
